SEPTEMBER 2025 - ANOTHED BUSY MONTH!

Greetings again.  I hope all is well with you and yours.

Here’s the beautiful little Robin who’s been visiting my garden lately.

Goldfinches on the sunflower hearts.

I spent 11 days with Ronnie in Norfolk at the beginning of September and, as you can see, the weather was glorious.

This is Happisburgh (pronounced Haisboro) lighthouse (which we walked up last year), the beach and cliffs.  Erosion has taken a toll on the cliffs.

St Mary’s Church (the tower of which we also walked up last year!)

We visited the lovely National Trust property of Felbrigg Hall.  The gardens are spectacular.

More of the lovely beach and cliffs which are a five minute walk from where Ronnie lives.

We walked part of Weavers Way one day - from East Ruston to North Walsham and back along an old railway line.

Another day we walked in the gardens and along the river at How Hill https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_Hill

The Star in Lessingham (which is a lovely friendly place) often have music (as well as good food - we ate there one night and one Sunday lunch time) and so we went down one Friday evening to listen.

One day we visited the lovely town of Holt https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holt,_Norfolk

We also drove up to North Norfolk and visited various places including Burnham Market.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burnham_Market

I took the train back from Norwich (a ticket courtesy of my friend Diane who works for East Midlands Railway) and who surprised me by meeting me in Peterborough, travelling back to Lincoln with me and then giving me a lift home!

Beautiful Lincoln cathedral.

‘My’ little Robin again and a Great Tit on the bird feeders.

One of my kitchen windows which I sit at often and watch the birds.

Last Thursday I was over at Pauline’s in Sheffield for two nights.  These are taken in a park close to where she lives.

On Monday September 29 I took the train to London and stayed with my friends Carole and Andy for two nights.

On Monday night Carole and I went to see a great play at the Bridge Theatre, close to Tower Bridge which was open to let a ship through.

The next day we took buses and a taxi through London before taking a walking tour through Mayfair which was really interesting.

Buckingham Palace and the Queen Victoria memorial.

Architecture in Mayfair

Trafalgar Square and Nelson’s Column.

I always take photos of Canadian flags when I see them - these were outside Canada House in Trafalgar Square!

Horse guards, Whitehall Palace

We also took a highlights tour in the National Portrait Gallery.

On Wednesday morning we walked through Regents Park (close to where they live) and saw some of the sculptures on exhibit before I caught the train home to my lovely little cottage!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my travels this month.  Thanks for checking in.
