Greetings.  I hope this finds you well and happy.

We were still in Spain until November 7.

This is a park at La Mata which is being re-wilded and to which we’ve been before.

We flew back to Stansted and I spent the weekend at Ronnie’s in Norfolk.  We went to Horsey Gap to see the grey seals and pups.  There is fencing to keep people and dogs away from the seals and volunteer wardens to ask questions of.

Unfortunately Colin and I had to have our 14 year old Quentin put down after I got back.  We were both devastated as it was not expected, especially as it was less than three weeks since we lost Frankie.  At least 12 year old Tiger is still keeping Colin company.  And that’s it for me - no more pets (much as I would like one) but I can’t face another pet death again, it’s too upsetting.  There are now six cats buried under an apple tree in Waddingham.

Another Town Hall Live event on November 15 was a duo called The Pleasures from Australia who were excellent.



I was at Pauline’s November 20 and these were taken in one of her neighbourhood parks.





This past Saturday Town Hall Live had another couple of great singers:

Demi Marriner from the U.K.

and Amy Speace from East Nashville (Judy Collins discovered her)

“Another wonderful concert last night.  What a songwriter and performer Amy Speace is.  Her songs make you hang on every word.  A special mention to Demi Marriner also.  She played a powerful set as support.  Attached are some images from the concert, courtesy of Mark Dinnage.”


I am currently enjoying being in my lovely cottage and discovering walks around the area, visiting friends, watching the birds at the feeders in the garden and generally taking it easy!

 We flew Ryan Air from Stansted to Alicante Prawn and pineapple starter at dinner the first night! Our apartment in a neighbourhood between Torrevieja and La Mata and the view from the roof terrace  Torre La Mata (our closest beach) Lovely Japanese food - I so miss the Bento boxes and Dynamite and California rolls that don’t seem to exist very close to where I live! MY BEAUTIFUL NEW HOME

Welcome to my new blog and my new home!  I feel very fortunate to be able to own this mid-terrace cottage built in the late 1700s.  I’ve had to do nothing to it as it was newly carpeted and painted before I bought it.  I’m fortunate that friends are helping me with the garden, about which I know nothing! The view out the front.  However, much as I love church bells, I don’t appreciate them every 15 minutes all through the night too but I guess I’ll get used to them!   My garden which is fortunately not too big but it is a real sun trap and I’ve been able to sit out in the afternoons and evenings lately and enjoy listening to the birds! My lovely sitting room with small log burner.  Lots of Roy Henry Vickers art around the walls. My dining room which is accessed from the front door and leads into the sitting room and the kitchen. JUNE 2025

Well it’s been a busy month! A blackbird in my garden eating. Two pics from a local walk. I went over to Waddingham to catsit for a week while Colin was away.  I so miss the cats but they are happy where they are and, as I’ve discovered, quite fickle! Here’s Quentin after he escapes the en-suite window and walks along the living room roof down to the orchard next door!   Ronnie and I went to Doddington Hall (near Lincoln) one day when he was up here and we had a drink at the Dambusters Pub which is close to the Scampton RAF station where the Dambusters left from.  “ Regarding the history of the pub, the Dambusters Inn was created in 1999 by Mike Knight and his wife, Amanda. Before that date, there had never been a pub in the Lincolnshire village of Scampton.  With local support, and, it has to be said, some local resistance, the Knight family created a pub crammed with artefacts and memorabilia from WW2 and, logically, named it the Dambusters Inn.” On Friday June 13 ...
