It’s March already! I hope you’ve survived winter, it’s been so rainy here but at least the Spring flowers are coming up. My favourite season - new life, new hope!
A couple more views from my morning walks.
I took the train down to Norfolk for a couple of weeks and was pampered! Happisburgh lighthouse (which we have walked to the top of in the past) is the only independently operated lighthouse in Great Britain and the oldest operating one in East Anglia.
We went to the Norwich castle museum one day: “One of the city’s most famous landmarks, Norwich Castle was built by the Normans as a Royal Palace 900 years ago. Now a museum and art gallery, it is home to some of the most outstanding collections of fine art, archaeology and natural history. Norwich Castle is packed with treasures to inspire and intrigue visitors of all ages. In the magnificent Norman keep, models, computers, sound and video bring history vividly to life.”
Various views of the beach in Happisburgh (where Annette and I first met Ronnie in 1969!) and surrounding area.
We went to watch the local football team that his stepson manages one Saturday when it was actually good weather!
The next day we went out for Sunday lunch and it snowed!
I had thought this sign was a joke until one day I saw the peacocks had crossed the road from a field to a house where they obviously get fed occasionally! Unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of them.
The beautiful cathedral at Ely, taken from the train on my way back to Lincoln.
On Wednesday 25th Linda and I went to Doddington Hall to see the Spring flowers before we had a lovely lunch there. We’re both very fond of Doddington Hall and Gardens and lots of my visitors have been there too.
A beautiful Robin singing his little heart out!
I went to Pauline’s on the 26th for the usual haircut, our favourite Italian restaurant and we also went to see the new movie version of “Wuthering Heights” which we were disappointed with.
That’s it for this month, thank you, as always, for checking in. Take care 💜
